How We Created An On-Brand Office

How we created an on-brand office with Scout and Nimble

Interior design and branding go hand in hand. When they work together, they create business spaces that elevate your brand and build trust with customers and employees alike. We’ve seen the results firsthand.

Our brand

As marketing experts, we naturally take our brand seriously. If you click around our website or social media accounts, we’re confident you’ll get a feel for who we are as a company. But for a little more insight, we’ll spell out the Hoot Design Co. brand for you.

Our interiors

We worked with Scout & Nimble, another women-led creative company in Columbia, Missouri, to transform our office. It was important that our space communicated our creative spirit to both inspire our team and show our clients what we’re all about. And we have to say, Scout & Nimble absolutely nailed it.

The result

Scout & Nimble created an on-brand space for us. It feels rebellious against normal office design, yet poised enough to be professional. The interiors are effortlessly cool and the on-trend design encourages our creative drive. When you walk into the HDco headquarters, it feels like you are walking into our space, not anybody else’s. That’s what branded interiors are all about. The reason they are branded is because they FEEL like the company.

Where’s the logo?

Contrary to popular belief, you can’t just slap your logo on a wall and call it on-brand. In fact, you may have noticed that our logo isn’t prominently displayed in our office. (But if you paid attention, you would have seen our three core values on the wall!) We didn’t put our logo all over the place because we didn’t need it. Our interiors are so thoroughly on-brand that there’s no question as to whose office this is.

Branded interiors don’t have to be literal - actually we recommend that they aren’t! It’s unlikely your customer will feel like they are in YOUR space just because you painted the west wall *army green*.

You may have also found that our office doesn’t strictly stick to our color scheme. Scout & Nimble opted for a warm color palette, using pinks and oranges. But orange isn’t an official HDco color, and that’s okay. The colors are still on-brand enough (we didn’t give the office a lilac and sage makeover) to work with our image. Again, branded interiors have more wiggle room than other branded projects. The most important thing is the feeling that the space evokes.

Key takeaways

We could create an on-brand office because we knew our brand inside and out. We then explained our vision to the professional interior designers at Scout & Nimble, who designed a space that was exclusively HDco without being overly literal. If you know your brand, your office’s needs, and hire a professional interior designer who understands your vision, then you’ll have no trouble creating an on-brand office that inspires your team and impresses clients.
